"Two tier policing" is not a real thing. It was invented by the far-right to justify the claim that police treat white people more harshly than racialised communities. Just because you'd really like it to mean something else, doesn't suddenly make it helpful.

Comparing the way police treat far-right vigilantes to pensioners holding placards condemning genocide is like comparing apples and oranges. Yes, it's unfair, but the problem is that police now never consider human rights in the way they make decisions. It's all about what is most convenient to them

The far-right embraces face masks (in a way that's deliberately intimidating) precisely because it is also an effective means of protecting their identity from the police. That doesn't mean we should now abandon a tactic that keeps friends and allies safer, just because it benefits our opponents too

If you are calling for the use of new powers to ban face masks to crack down on the far-right, it's worth remembering that no consideration was ever given by ministers for the practical risks of this new law both putting people like you in greater danger and excluding participation in protest rights

By calling for police to "use their new powers" you legitimise them also doing so against people with health vulnerabilities, or wanting to avoid doxxing, or people who have family abroad at risk if they are seen protesting in Britain. Policing is not the answer to a growing far right. Resistance is
