They’ll just need to apply for FMLA , fax the paperwork over to HR, and notify their manager. Per policy , caring for children and grandparents are eligible for paid leave, pets would have to be unpaid.

Oh, and they’ll need their employee ID for the vendor that administers the FMLA leave. If it’s late night or the weekend, or the agent assigned their case is OOO, it could be 5-10 business days .
