Trump is dangerous, but he isn’t dangerous because, in returning to the White House, he’s finally achieved mastery at working the levers of power. He’s dangerous because, like last time, he won’t have a clue. From @timothynoah.bsky.social: newrepublic.com/article/1887...

newrepublic.comDonald Trump Is a Weakling. That’s the Problem.Yes, he’s authoritarian. But the specific danger he poses is the chaos caused by his lack of discipline, not a triumph of the will.

Trump 2.0 remains both policy- and process-illiterate. The reason he likes tariffs so much (even though they're hyper-inflationary and trigger foreign retaliation) is that he can impose them impulsively and without congressional approval.

Which is why all this talk about tarrifs and immigrant roundups is... just talk. Like replacing Obamacare and getting Mexico to pay for a wall, it ain't gonna happen. But it sure sounds good to him and his equally clueless followers.

It will. Chavez-DeRemer, his labor pick, is at odds with him. She will either roll over or get fired or quit. On top of that, he already has GOP senators protesting his cabinet picks. I never thought I would hear Rand Paul oppose Trump, but he did. Of course, actions are louder than words.

I’m about to read this, but I think it’s pretty self evident that this is the real problem. Remember book 6 of the Chronicles of Narnia? The one where a bunch of connivers proclaim the drunk monkey as king? I think we’re there.

The billionaires want him because he will shut down all the Diddy and Epstein stuff or misdirect it. The religious want him because they are too indoctrinated to know that the billionaires are paying to make it look like they are sponsored by God. How do I know? I used to be Pentecostal extremist.
