That's a good point. People who carry out illegal orders are violating the law. I think the excuse "I was just following orders" was considered at length during the Nuremberg trials and found to be unacceptable.

It would be sort of funny to see US marshals enforce it, with a scrum of various officials, reporters and staffers churning around in confusion.
