Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi is retiring. President Joe Biden awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She has done so much for San Francisco, California, and the US as a whole. If she were a politician in the UK, she would have been made a Dame. To me, she will always be Dame Nancy.

I am not sure what is meant by "vying to replace her"? Sara Jacobs, a sitting member of Congress from San Diego, trying to run for a different seat 500 miles away would be a baffling development. CA-11 has two high-profile candidates that have announced a run, Saikat Chakrabarti and Scott Wiener.
