I think people with LLMs is what will drive me out of open source. Every time I look at PRs in the Babel repo I get sad and annoyed. Somebody opened an issue, I reply "PRs welcome!" and I get 3 PRs with even the *descriptions* LLM-generated.

The code was medium quality, the description bad. Even if they were good, they can go maintain their agentic fork or whatever.

I know it won't fix everything, and unfortunately, going back to that moment will get harder and harder, but please reach out if you need anything. If you have any ideas or need anything, let's chat. Let's make lemonade out of the lemons they gave us. ❤️

We added some similar-ish rules to the Preact org a while back, haven't really seen any decrease in junk PRs (not that we were/are getting a ton to be fair) but it definitely has been helpful as instant-close justification I've found. I spend less time thinking about wording and how to reply.

Thanks for sharing your experience there :) I'm indeed hoping it will just make it easier to close PRs without feeling bad for the fraction of a human that's behind them.

This is exactly why open source needs more humans. It would be a great loss for the community if you stop. But I do understand your feelings.
