Writing this on @mu.social after migrating my data to @eurosky.social PDS. I realize this is a nerdy gimmick, but the fact that it is possible at all is cool as hell. Love to see the atproto environment gain more options.

I will be honest and say that I really don't think the average user cares about any of this. Maybe that's a good thing and the community is just naturally smaller than other platforms. But it can also hinder broader adoption and the funding that goes along with it unless the platform competes.

The truth is, telling a non-developer that "You can store your data on any PDS of your choice" will just lead to them going back to X where you didn't have to think about any of this. Most folks don't care.
