What happened yesterday at Oracle is a disgrace. None of these people deserved to get fired and even less so in the soulless way it was done. I'm sure nobody in Java's leadership wanted this to happen and that they fought tooth and nail to minimize the impact. And yet, here we are... 1/4

I admire what you, @nipafx.dev and the rest of the dev rel tesm at Oracle are doing, despite how Oracle as a company continually damages the Java community and prestige. However, for many others like me, your dev rel team will become almost irellevant without @sharatchander.bsky.social . 1/2

@sharatchander.bsky.social is who we trust, he is our patron and defender of the community. The rest of the dev rel team are just that, dev rel, advocates of Oracle. Not to be trusted in the same way as we don’t trust Oracle as a whole.
