Interesting thread on interesting thread, and kind of making me wonder if this is part of the very strong author pushback against AI. Obv the stolen books, the attempt to put many kinds of artists out of work, the copying of our voices...but also, we make up imaginary people all the time.

There are people who do not read first or second person narratives because they can’t separate the pronouns from themselves. I suspect these people should also be very cautious about using AI

Coming back to this to wonder if those authors who insist their characters are autonomous/talking to them/whatever are more susceptible too.
