❗️The EU is preparing tougher visa restrictions for Russian tourists over hybrid security threats, Politico reports. The European Commission plans proposals in the new year. Around 478,000 Schengen tourist visas were issued to Russian citizens last year, many allowing multiple entries. #EU

Russians very well may be carrying the Y Pestis plague in or on them as they migrate into the EU. At best, they will be spying on the military and industrial systems. Send them all back to their Hell hole they call home. POWER TO UKRAINE!!

Anyway, the #Schengen tourist visa should be abrogated and replaced by visas for each single country. Schengen was conceived for the unhappily now jeopardized free movement of the people residing legally in the #EU and the other participating States, not for tourists of third countries,🇷🇺🇺🇸🇨🇳 included.

This type of #Schengen tourist visa is fatal and should be abrogated and replaced by a visa for every single country a person of a third State wants to visit in the Schengen area.Being illegally in a country without a visa should be considered as an offence and lead to an immediate arrest/expulsion.

For security reasons, I can agree with tougher restrictions and more stringent vetting. But to postulate (like other commentators do) that no Russian should be allowed to come to the EU is just wrong. Keep the ties and remind them they are just lost, prodigal children of Europe.

Russia is at war with another European state and is a threat to all of them. that would have been like England letting Germans visit as tourists during WW2 why should Russians sip champagne in the French countryside while Ukrainian children are being bombed by Russians?

If they want to leave hard currency in European Union, let them drink all champagne they want! Hell, let them buy all the G-Wagens they want. Every euro spent in EU may in turn help finance Ukraine's war against the invader.

that is not true. the psychological effects of rest and relaxation abroad spending money most of these oligarchs stashed in European banks years ago is enormous. these are the elites taking these vacations. if it hurt Russian economy Putin would forbid such vacations. his own daughter lives in EU

I kinda used to agree with what you say, but seeing all these attacks by Russian infiltrators on our territory is making me change my mind. This is just a pragmatic and strategic choice. It’s for Europe’s security. We have nothing personal against the Russian people (at least I don’t).

Russian tourists?!?! Are you nuts. What a signal is that? Besides refugees or similar status, they should not be able to leave the country until Russia behaves

Planning 'proposals' next year? Oh, goodness, then reviews, updates, should take years. Or, just stop issuing the damn visas to RUSSIANS! Or is that too complex?
