Tariffs are now 104% on imports from China. Now, I do not have a financial horse in this race. I do not personally import from China or anything of a sort. But my community does. The Positron community that I worked so hard to build over the past 4 to 5 years, what now?

The kit was already on the expensive side, and was already a hard pill to swallow. But for those that were enthusiasts of the idea, it was still within reason. I cannot in good conscious at this point recommend that anyone spend over $1,000 on a Positron.

And without subsidies, there is no way that a small production run machine like Positron can be made reasonably here in United States. We were nominated for Best FDM desktop printer in 2024, and this was only possible due to our collaboration with LDO.

But with these tariffs, the momentum that I spent the past four to five years of my life building, almost has essentially been kneecapped. I am fuming for my community. And I am going to put all of this rage into a creative endeavor to make an even better machine.
