Hospitals here in Norway that are way understaffed hiring consultants to figure out how to lower expenses/cutting staff. Keeping medical professionals employed is too expensive apparently, but they REFUSE to disclose what the consultant fees are to conduct the work on "how to save money".

Straight up scam to ensure the more and more money go into the right pockets. Cannibalize every public service in "an effort to save money" so they can justify letting private investors take ownership. Consultation firms take a piece of the pie too because of course they are also privately owned.

Public services have been run as businesses for so long that the only thing they have left to cut is wages. Giving your bud a couple million in consultant fees to look at it is classic corruption.

Some similar situation here in Brazil with SUS. It's our free Healthcare and it works wonders for everyday ocurrances like broken bones, stitching cuts, removing Barbie dolls stuck in someone's anal cavity, emergency care and surgeries and organ transplant. Also vaccination is efficient and anyone++

Can just walk in, present their vaccination cards and ask for the full pack free of charge. But for surgeries considered optional or low priority, like implants, plastic, screw a loose joint, or generally stuff like weekly therapy, you're lucky if you can get something before next year. Why? +++++++

Lobbying. Private Healthcare companies will be lobbying for the government to junkify SUS as much as possible so people get a negative view on it and start getting a positive view on private because it works. Whenever there's a basic civilian right, there will be a company lobbying so they can sell.
