Capitalism demands that people die so I can have a nice fancy countertop. Banning it wouldn't really ban it, it would just make it way more shady and dangerous to do. Workers deserve to be compensated, ofc, but might want to consider other jobs that pay less but are not as hazardous.

Suing the maker of quartz countertops that follows safety rules for harm caused by unscrupulous small companies that don't follow safety rules is like suing Ford Motor Company over drunk drivers.

We recently installed a quartz countertop. They insisted on much more stringent measurements than when I had them done 15 years ago. The sink cutout was done ahead. They drilled for the faucet and soap dispenser at the house, which could have also been done ahead without proper PPE, none for us!

Just to be clear, the ban only extends to working with engineered stone at the work face, it is still OK for it to be prepared in a suitably equipped OHS compliant factory. This will impose additional cost and require much more accuracy and detailed planning. Measure twice cut once in safety.

Then they should be suing the companies that didn't follow the safety rules instead of the quartz manufacturer that does follow the safety rules.

Can it make money? Yep. Will it hurt people? Who cares, as long as we make money. Aren't there laws against that? Where do you think we invest that money? PACs baby! Only a particular kind of idiot thinks deregulation will help them. Unless you're a CEO, newsflash...
