I remember cameras focusing in on Rev. Jessie Jackson the night Barack Obama won the 2008 election Tears streaming unchecked down his face. So glad he experienced that joy along with all the challenges.

As I recall it, a great activist. But also a great hypocrit, "counseling" Bill Clinton, to downplay a scandal, while having his own affair at the same time. So sick of "great" men who turn out to be not so great.

Sooner or later everyone is a hypocrite. Jackson led a life of activism & was a pivotal player in the Civil Rights movement all of his life, he moved the needle. I can't discount a lifetime of good & toss out someone's character & impact like a baby's bathwater. I don't judge folks that way

Well we can downgrade him to a good man, and appreciate that he tried, and sometimes helped. He inspired and comforted people and also failed his own principals at times.
