music and art are very good things and its critically important that everyone keeps making it. it doesnt matter what happens on the way, this is your calling, this is what you were meant to do, so do it

I do both. I also wrote a VERY funny epic fantasy about Gnomes who grow cannabis. Here's the MCs theme song. Cheers. See my page for my sculptures and drawings. bsky.app/profile/m-e-...

i relate to this so hard. its difficult not to think whats the point of everything i do, but i think the constant search of meaning drives me. sometimes its really hard but at the end of the day still worth it, im the happiest when i share something i put hours into and someone's enjoying it.

i'm gonna be honest i see posts like this in my feed every day, and call me cynical, but this feels like it's farming engagement by appealing to generic truths of the creative process. it feels like what piratesoftware would post

you probably didn't intend that, but it is this type of post which messes with me, because i spent years working on a game throughout college to be met with a microscopic audience for the demo (i canned it and never posted about it here)

Agreed, and amidst all the bad stuff I believe we may be entering an era of heightened appreciation for human artistry as a connection between us. I'd love to see a Creative Commons-like opt-in designation for level of automation use/avoidance in creative work, and I'd display it myself.
