Across the U.S., doctors are increasingly concerned that people with serious medical conditions are avoiding medical care out of fear of being apprehended by immigration officials. “The tragic message to these people is: Be a shadow and hope that you do not die,” one said. nyti.ms/4d4Wu1s

The states that are proud of this are the same states that won't be able to figure out why doctors and nurses don't want to work there anymore. Red states don't need liberal handouts like "healthcare" with all their bootstraps and prayer healing groups anyways lmao

Totally understand why this is an important concern. I also think that along with fear of ICE immigrants and legal Americans a like aren’t getting medical treatment because we can’t afford it or don’t have healthcare. That might be the bigger issue

I had a medical emergency this weekend, and was in excruciating pain. I cannot begin to imagine how horrific it would have been had I been afraid to seek help. My heart goes out to these victims of evil.

Wasn’t HIPAA meant to restrict health care providers from sharing any data with any other parties without explicit consent of the patient? Or has this been scrapped by the Orange Turd’s regime?

Part of the concern is that ICE has declared they can be in (lurk threateningly in) public areas of hospitals/healthcare organizations like waiting rooms. It was time 3 months ago for these facilities to declare those as non-public so only patient-support folks like family members were allowed.
