I dont quite see the purpose of showing the play time of the whole recently played list since I’ve never seen watch/listen history be treated like a playlist. Could you walk me through the process behind that feature?

That kind of visual reset is underrated—stepping back to define the language can make the small UI decisions much easier. The ruler sounds like a useful outcome.
