Freshly installed at Runnymede and St. Clair. I know this is the default standard for bike lanes adjacent to parking for accessibility reasons. These plastic flex-posts get destroyed so easily. Why not elevate lane adjacent to parking? That would be no different re:accessibility than at a curb, no?

You mean like this? Bike lane raised with a curb, sidewalk raised a bit more with another curb. It’s been the standard way to do a bike lane here as long as I can remember. Trees and daylighting optional but sure helps.

So, not exactly the same (posts versus curb, but without the bike lane raised after the curb), but I talked to a city engineer about the Kingston bike lanes near street parking. Posts were chosen over a curb to avoid a trip hazard. Might be similar rationale?
