A weapon developed for war and designed to inflict intense pain has been approved for loan to federal law enforcement on American soil. The Pentagon authorized the heat ray for DHS. Could ICE get access? Could it be used against migrants or Americans exercising First Amendment rights? Who decides?

Red flags seems an understatement.

Any use is misuse.

Facts. This "heat ray" is millimeterwave directed energy. The high power version of the "T-wave" or "Terahertz wave" that strips your clothes away at the airports. It has a very low depth of penetration in skin, a fraction of a millimeter.

It does not penetrate any metal foil, nor metallized goggles like some sun googles. The metal foil must be continous, this electromagnetic energy could slip into tiny cracks a fraction of a millimeter long. Clothes wetted with *salt* water could already be a good protection.

A combination of these protection methods, maybe also using the thin "survival blankets" under salt-wetted clothes. Protect your eyes with googles that have a thin metal layer, many sunglasses or ski goggles should be efficient (the bright colored shiny ones).
