I keep debating whether I want to come back and elaborate on this. The short version is I'd rather focus on creating than cynical and terminally online bullshit. This is for my own wellbeing.

I think I'm done here

I'm sure some people will think I'm shooting myself in the foot (or whatever), but mainstream internet these last few years has been nothing but tiring and creatively draining. It sucked all the fun out of it and I'm only just now getting it back.

I am happy to read that you are finding back joy and heartened that amidst all the bovine manure, you know what brings you joy and steer the ship of your soul in that direction :) I hope you will be better, wish you well and if/when you return here, may this place be better for you & others too.

No, I'm not "quitting art" but I don't want to be surrounded by algorithm zombies that can't form a coherent thought without twitter, reddit, tiktok or instagram reels, which is hard when that's most people these days, even outside. I definitely don't want to be a "content creator" or whatever.

Without tooting my own horn too much, I find I'm usually ahead of the curve on these things. I'm getting pretty good at recognising how people think. I hope I'm ahead on this one too, but I won't hold my breath. If I'm wrong, maybe I'm just meant to be an outsider. That's fine too.

Maybe I'll come back to this, but it won't be like before. I've seen too much and I never really liked doomscrolling. I don't know how people do it. I can barely last 30 seconds. It's almost like they enjoy it even if they don't realise it. They definitely enjoy it.
