The Colorado Springs city council meeting of 2026-09-17 was to hear arguments for and against a data center going in near Garden of the Gods. Speakers were overwhelmingly against. I was one of those. 1/7 #cos #coloradosprings #datacenters #police

She had signed up to give here 2min speech just like the rest of us and since there were so many people not there anymore to give their opinions she asked if she could go now. She was denied because they would not "go backward" on the list. 3/7

We all erupted in outrage at this arbitrary Nurse Dieselry and they called a recess for us to cool down. During that recess the woman began speaking through a megaphone and we were all very supportive. But the cops moved in to grab her and shut her up. 4/7

She was not saying anything much different than the rest of us had been saying. So they were not trying to silence her so much as to make it clear that the council-approved methods and time of free speech were not to be circumvented! It was a clear power play. 5/7
