In the month of October, naturalist Luan Roberts organizes events and encourages everyone to look at the wildlife living under their local docks and report what they see. She's on a mission to get more people involved in the emerging citizen science known as “dock fouling.”

opb.orgDocktober invites folks to join citizen scientists in peeking under docksUnlike tide pooling, with dock fouling there is no need to consult a tide table and wait for a minus tide. A floating dock rises and falls with the water, bringing its underwater community along with it.
