If you’re a bar/restaurant/venue and you charge money for tap water, your mom’s a hoe and you should be ashamed. $5 for tap water is absurd. I miss Washington.

Meanwhile me, getting a free soda while we're waiting on the fried chicken ('cause this particular bar is also attached to a VERY TASTY restaurant) because I happened to mention I'm the one driving while ordering (I go to bars so infrequently that I often forget the whole "DDs drink free" thing)

It’s not a universal thing, often depends on the bartender. Wisconsin IMO is the most likely to give away drinks for free, although that includes beer for them.

I know it's not a universal thing, but it does happen at enough bars that it's been a thing every time I've gone to a bar (the only reason I tend to have to go is to be a designated driver for someone else; they aren't really my scene).
