this actually made something spark for me- have you ever played the Devil May Cry games? because they have Leon's quippiness and Metal Gear's awkward character interactions, in hindsight they seem so very up your alley

I tried playing a bit of DMC3 but didn't give myself time to get into them I think I made a mistake trying to play it right after Bayonetta, and I was frustrated with how heavy Dante was compared to her 😅

Ah gotcha- yeah 3 is the best place to start with for sure (nailed both the gameplay and the story), but I can see him feeling slow and heavy coming off of Bayonetta who's just so smooth and rapid Some of his weapons and abilities do make him a bit faster later at least.
