8am PST: Had a nice chat with a new author trying to learn more about publishing & avoiding scams.
Scammers often go after newer authors who may not know, so proper research and getting involved with a community can help so much in avoiding publishing scams.
9:15: Morning Walk!
I try to go on a morning and/or evening walk daily if possible.
Sitting at a desk/computer all day is very unhealthy so I do try to exercise however I can.
Today I had enough spoons to take my morning 25 min walk!
10am: Editing!
I've started editing for today! I'm working on the comments pass of this edit.
This pass is where I go through the manuscript and edit or add comments for important things that I've flagged on my main editing pass.
12:30pm: Lunch Break!
I'm taking a lunch break after about 2 hours of editing.
I added and edited comments for about 40 pages and worked on the feedback letter/editorial report for this project!
2:15pm Afternoon break!
I get sleepy and tired so I'm taking a break, lying down in bed and resting.
Sometimes I nap! Power naps of 20-40 mins are really helpful actually.
3:30pm Marketing!
I posted a Halloween themed video on Tiktok for this week. I'm asking booktok and my mutuals there for horror book recs!
(If you want to rec some of your fav queer horror books feel free!)
4:15pm Emails
I had to draft an email up for a poetry magazine submission.
I'm a writer as well as an editor so I do try to focus my time on both during the day!
5pm Dinner & End of the Day!
I cooked dinner for my family. We'll be eating soon.
And that's been a day in the life of an editor!
Sometimes I work late (7pm-9pm), but I did a lot today and I'm tired. So I don't feel the need to work late today.
(Bury your gays by chuck tingle. of the 4 horror releases so far, that's been my fav, then fabulous bodies, then camp Damascus, and finally, lucky day)
