Amazing speech by Carney to the European Parliament - free movement, common market, ... Not hard to see how his stint as Chairman of the Bank of England through the worst of the Brexit years influenced him. Well done Brexit and Trump for achieving what I never thought would be possible.

What in Carney's speech suggests that Canada might be in a more advantageous position than the UK, re its relationship with the EU? There was no detail at all, other than Erasmus+ (which the UK is already signed up to).

As a bit of context, from 2003 to 2007 I was serving in the EU's delegation to Canada. What is happening now is beyond the wildest ravings of my pushiest talking points back then.
