Does anyone else think it's messed up that Youtube has an entire functioning system for Buying/Renting Movies and TV Shows... and yet that feature is completely inaccessible to the average Youtube creator?

"Wow! You're an indie animator or film maker and you just created a feature length film? and you want us to host it up as a Buy or Rent video?... Well tough shit, either find a distributor OR host it up for FREE on our platform where we'll pay you pennies in AdSense instead :)"

This has been on my mind lately with the projects I'd like to make and how the video/film production project ideas seem to have no clear way to monetize in a way that makes sense. All monetization for video production seem to ONLY push for the lowest effort content treadmills. That shit sucks man...

It's no wonder why in indie art spaces, we tend to focus a lot more on indie game development as the medium of expression. Since that seems to be the only form a media that doesn't dick around around the creators. You make the thing and then you sell it.
