Was just in a meeting about Canada's AI For All strategy and my Q about our gov't strategy is at odds with communities fighting against data centres. The reply was that data centres pollute less than restaurants, & public opinion was manipulated by foreign interference and disinformation. Huh?

Interesting argument. One could reply, that data centers emit a lot of radiation in the infrared spectrum. And if there are not powered with renewable energy, tons of CO2. The latter most likely somewhere else. If you are luck enough to have a energy surplus.

I explained a bit more about why I decided to write this book and how it couldn’t be arriving at a better time over on Disconnect.

Two years ago, I had an inkling that data centers were poised to become a bigger issue. But as HYPERSCALE hits shelves in a few months, I could hardly have imagined they’d become as controversial as they are. Over on Disconnect, I explained about why I decided to write this book.
