This is misinformation. This toggle does not allow remote access. If you are not running local AI agents, this toggle does literally nothing. The original poster turned off comments and quote replies.

Just pisses me off. Nvidia does enough anti-consumer nonsense that you don't need to fabricate something to get one over on them. The clout you get for bullshitting isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Turning off replies and quotes means this spreads a lot further unchecked.

The recommendation is fine. Turn this setting off if you want to. It would make your computer ever so slightly more secure in the edge case of malware setting up an MCP server locally and running arbitrary prompts through your GPU. But at that point, your system is already fucked anyway.
