No doubt that they believe it all started in 1979 with Iranians taking over the US embassy. They like that date, conveniently ignoring 1953.

And years before. That’s not to excuse Iran’s role in all of this. But no, Iran was not on the brink of developing a nuclear weapon and there were strong guardrails they had agreed to that would stop that.
