In the early 90s I was working at Canadian tire in Edmonton. My friend Dwayne went to high school with me and worked at the same store. Often were we in the same aisle, one of us would drop something, and we both pick it up together, our hands would touch and our eyes would meet.

This choreographed show went daily for months, but only when there was an audience of men who would be uncomfortable by this. It was a small act of protest against toxic masculinity before it had been labelled toxic masculinity. It was mostly fun.

But we also thought we were making the world a better place. I guess we failed. We were wrong to expect that people would understand our art. I wish to publicly thank Dwayne for participating. We did our best.
