I’m just starting to dip my toe in embedded and I’ve heard from multiple people now “how nice embedded programming can be with Rust nowadays” Will order a pico shortly and give this a try!

The jump to no_std is a bit rough sometimes, but I love it! The embedded_hal crate is nice. You end up using many libraries written using other MCUs, but since it uses the abstracted hal, it just works most of the time. Just make sure to get the Pico 1! Pico 2 is still a bit rocky.

Ah good callout! Also, at risk of revealing how courageous/stupid I am…this would be my first experience with Rust Sooo…the no_std thing wouldn’t be an issue at least! 😅 Or maybe it still makes it harder but I just wouldn’t know what I’m missing

All good! My first real dive into Rust was similar(making a GBA game). The main thing I run into is you miss out on some math operations, string interpolations, and other things like that.
