Here's the idea behind the “A New Start” campaign: Most of us started our careers on Windows. We learned to code, to draw, to solve problems on Windows 98, XP, Vista, etc. Eventually, a lot of us moved to the Mac as it became more common.

It's time for a new Start. Raycast for Windows, available today. 👉 raycast.com/windows

We have fond memories of using Windows. Back to 2002, learning Flash 5, setting up an FTP server, hearing the dialup sound, and getting my first website online, I have nothing but amazing memories. During that time we relied heavily on the Start button. It did the perfect job back then.

But the way we work today has changed, and we know that getting to your apps through the Start menu is no longer the desired path. Raycast does a much better job of helping you use your computer faster and better. Hence the title: “A New Start.”

It’s a new start for Windows users, for Raycast, and for the Start button. The campaign has a nostalgic vibe. It’s a love letter to Windows, in a way. The photos are of the Raycast team using Windows back in the day 🥹

It’s the most honest way to announce Raycast for Windows, from a team that's been building exclusively for the Mac. I hope you enjoy it. I’m glad we get to work on projects like this with Bruno and Inga, and to be part of a team that lets us explore new ways of telling stories: Thomas and Petr.
