I am not scared of competing with AI in grant applications. AI has no idea, no innovation and no understanding. as a reviewer it’s like looking at a picture, once you notice it’s AI generated, you’re disappointed, feel betrayed, same for projects.

I‘m not disagreeing, but AI is very good at figuring out what reviewers want to hear. I see that as the real threat, that there will be convergence to the obviously fundable at the expense of the truly original, which is “out of distribution”, to use a machine learning term.
