PCOS is being renamed to PMOS. (Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome) The change comes from experts that say the old name was misleading, stating that it inaccurately suggested ovarian cysts as a defining feature.

Renaming it to PMOS is progress, but if we don't address the rs5522 switch, we’re still just chasing symptoms. 🧬This "polyendocrine" mess is driven by cortisol steal and a broken metabolic receptor. Let's stop renaming the fallout and start fixing the root cause.

But what about those of us with those cysts? Not the chocolate ones, but just the common ones. I was diagnosed with PCOS early in my teens because I actually had cysts and all the other symptoms associated with it. Can we still call it PCOS?
