Comparable to never using autotune or digital mixing. Which is fine. But please drop the superiority complex. Musicians use incredibly advanced tech, including AI, all the time.

While I would definitely prefer more people specify generative AI, I think it still can be pretty clearly inferred that she's referring to generative AI and not all AI.

Any classifier can trivially be used for generation. Current use of "gen AI" really just mean "the specific AI systems we're currently having a moral panic over". It's not a useful technical distinction.

I was a classically trained musician from age 6. Concert violinist in my teens. I can spot AI slop a mile away, but the vast majority of the population can’t. To them it sounds fine. Most don’t know their arias from their elbow. Music is emotion. If it makes them happy,why should we complain?
