we have refused to properly fund mental health care for decades but, as you can see, it’s actually your fault for seeking diagnosis in the first place

The article itself is mostly about how routinely failed people are *now* but instead of being angry at that and looking to fix it we’re framing it as “over diagnosis” potentially making it even worse

I don’t have a diagnosis for ADHD myself but when I read about it a lot of it makes sense and it makes me feel like I understand myself a little better but because of shit like this when I brought it up to a friend it was just joked about because “everyone has that now!”

And, yeah that sucks and was super shitty, but I can function for the most part without the support - but for people who really struggle with it they’ll be having the exact same reactions from their friends and how incredibly alienating that must feel really fucking boils my piss

Yeah as someone who has been pursuing both autism and ADHD diagnoses for nearly a decade it drives me insane. The autism diagnosis has led to NO support and the ADHD diagnosis has still led to no medication after I jumped through 50 million mental hoops which feels like a fucking hate crime 😭😭😭😭

Honestly. To be questioned even by friends and loved ones about my lived experience after having struggled all my life? I’m just too fucking tired… I’m ending up just withdrawing cos I don’t want to have to “explain myself” only to be gaslit AGAIN that I am wrong
