There is an underrated danger to too much information consumption; which is that in the noise, one tends to forget the basics, the fundamentals, which are the most important to keep in mind.

Our brains need time & space to process and synthesize information. Modern day info influx doesn't allow us to chew on an idea for long enough to internalize the core concepts. Every good thought & idea gets overwritten by slack messages, notifications, info junk, rage bait, ads, and what not.

We just haven't been evolved to consume info like this. So brains cope up by not paying attention to anything at all and still getting drained at the end of the day.

That's very true. But I think to some degree this also applies to content we (correctly) consider high quality, provided that we drown ourselves in such content. Good books, good blogs, wonderful documentaries, etc, should of course be consumed, but perhaps not so much as to lose perspective.

In comparison to reading, thinking and contemplation and silence seem to be underrated.
