He's an inventor, working on sometimes nearly godlike technology. You telling me 100% of the time he gets the math right? He works in nanotech but never had a grey goo scenario? I know there were a few times where the AI's went rogue (either the suit or independently) but this has to be public.

No villain. No bad guys. Just a fucking mistake. How does he handle it? What does it do to his ego? Is it something he can fix, atone for? Is anybody killed? Does it retrigger his alcoholism? See, that's a story with an arc. How is he before and after?

You really want to give it stakes: make it so he has to team up with a villain for a few issues to fix it. He learns a little humility working closely with them. Maybe its their specialty (lasers for the Living Laser for ex).

I've worked tech long enough to see something I built go bad due to an error, and have everybody screaming at you at once to fix it, and knowing it's your own fault, it's the worst - which translates to the best kind of story tension!
