Lots of negative reporting around Maidens Paris show, which had no encores because of an earlier power cut. My take: 1. Gutting, but the right decision to skip encores because Mariner/7th son probably won’t get played beyond this tour but aces high/FOTD and wasted years probably will.

2. Weird night but honestly the band and crowd were so fired up after the break that mariner was savage … maybe the best I’ve ever heard it, real fire in the belly stuff. The entire second half was magnificent.

3. I hope they don’t abandon the recordings as these renditions were awesome and they have enough footage from other shows to complete the package.

Tl:dr So, for me, mixed feelings- disappointment after travelling from Uk not to see the whole set, but also feel like I saw some really special renditions of some of my favourite maiden songs. Ps la defense arena needs back up generators!
