It’s increasingly clear that higher admins at many universities don’t respect (maybe don’t even like) the mission of higher education generally

i once suggested on old twitter that academics should think then about where their red line was when they're asked to do something they don't agree with and then got yelled at because "it's a job" and well that was my point

anyway, thinking about how my dean closed my department and some of the decisions being made here at my university

i'd just love to be able to ask these guys (including maybe my new president) what they think a university is for?

sex for the students, parking for the faculty, football for the alumni?
