Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

She was in charge of 2024 vote: where not ONE voting system machine or device was secure ; & they had a pile of reports & duty to warn saying do. The FEC was completely absent during early voting & ballot fuckery. They made zero effort to enforce poll station rules or FEC POLICIES BEING VIOLATED

No that is the legal way. It may not be customary but "you're fired" works just as well. Everybody in the Executive Branch works for the President. That was clearly established by the Supreme Court. Congress can pass whatever law it wants but every time it comes before the court it ends the same.

It's legal. It's not even unusual. The woman was supposed to have a six year minimum term. It's been 20 years. She doesn't have a contract she was appointed. Did you hear about Phillis Fong IG of the USDA? Didn't like the way she was fired, said she wasn't leaving. Federal agents escorted her out.
