Where i live, young men are suffering because they were too often raised by a young, poor, single mother in an environment defined by discord & neighborhoods governed by street codes. Where i taught, the problem was parents who believed their personal success was defining as good parenting.

Raging Moderates listener (sometimes Prof G) - I know you don’t read the comments. But, your message packed an emotional punch in a way that feels new. Maybe it was hearing the pain in those kids’ voices. It’s a good format, do more of them w/ young men + women from more diverse income groups

Not according to research...girls/women are doing better at school/college, boys/men have higher suicide rates, higher rates of unemployment. Especially (in the US) for African American males. Not to say it’s all great for women but they have been doing better than us for some years now.

This is a good idea. Bring some everyday young men and interview them. Talk to people who need help. Great idea.

Hope you explore the domestic violence, spouse murder and child abuse rates and how that’s correlating into women staying away from violently immature men who can’t take care of themselves physically or emotionally !! K thx by..
