It is interesting to note that the U.S. government maintained a healthy alliance with the reigning Iranian monarch, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, during the 1970s. Iran was also the foremost economic and military partner of the U.S. in the Middle East.

I unknowingly did a semester abroad study program in France with what seemed like half of the Shah’s grandkids. They were NOT big fans of American foreign exchange students. By the end of the program we exchanged addresses. Theirs were all at ‘Royal Palace Tehran…’ 😂 I should find that address book.
