The FDA won’t tell Americans where their generic drugs are made, so ProPublica did it instead. Use information from your prescription label to locate the factory and see if the plant has a history of inspection violations.

Excellent! I just checked all of mine. 4 made in India with problems noted in every location, and one manufactured in China, where problems were all determined to be self-correctible. If only we could get the name brands mfd' in the US for under $10,000 per scrip, I'd be happy.

Why is America over medicating seniors causing liver and kidney failure? The veteran hospitals deserves compassion qualified doctors. There a dialysis facility in every neighborhood who's profit off of people being sick.Holistic medicine is needed no more big pharmaceutical kickbacks?

America has always pretended that we can’t bring things in from other countries even though those countries have gone through as rigorous studies as the Us if not more so. It’s bullshit. The US companies simply don’t want outside competition

I do this all the time. + When I had cataract surgery the Dr. offered to sell a compounded soln of the post surgery eye drops I would need. No way. Sterility assurance in compounding pharmacies has a poor track record. I paid 5x more for the individual drops made at high quality sterile mfg sites.

It’s unfortunate when you receive notice from Aetna that your expensive, generic medication, made in India, has been recalled because it contains known cancer-causing ingredients. 😞

All the generic drugs are made in China, they took the labels off to make it less obvious a year or two ago. Everything that can be made in China is made in China, and no longer made here.

India? Where they sell big black umbrellas printed with a grand seal of unsurpassed waterproofing, that don’t even interrupt the rain pouring through, now black with India ink? (True story.)

Unfortunately, it depends on the violation. FDA inspectors will find things even in the best run facilities. BUT the biggest problem is when the violations are so bad the company is put on import alert but the US allows exceptions to prevent drug shortages. Ya, that's "hope for the best" time.

Maybe. I could be wrong but I am not hearing abt easing of inspection standards. Then again I am not plugged in either. I do recall long before the current regime reading about one inspector being restricted from audits in China and India bc he found too much wrong & risked requiring import alerts.
