I saw this disregard for a woman whose skin is not white during my daughter-in-law’s pregnancy . I went to her appointments as often as possible because the staff listened to an old white woman who wouldn’t be silenced! It’s disgustingly shameful.

We need more female doctors and health care providers and certainly more of color. In attending my elderly mother’s appointments recently I noticed that the female doctors were so much more prone to listening, caring and, most importantly, acting.

Doctors hate women. They have a history of gaslighting us & trying to kill us for about 200 yrs that I know of. This is generational today. We all have women in our families, brutalized and/or murdered by doctors.

And the biggest looming issue is the closure of birthing centers in hospitals - especially rural and inner city-because of the cuts to funding from the Big Bomb Bill. Hospitals don’t make enough money for births because of the more involved care required.

But can you imagine how much would improve even if we increased the number of midwives and pregnancy/ birth doulas who could be care advocates amplifying Mom’s voices during pregnancy and birth? Make them women of color and that voice increases even more! NPR just had something on this topic.

It's a real indictment of our society that these health disparities have been known and discussed for decades and the bias/neglect by physicians being a known cause for decades, and it continues. And Republicans ban research into health disparities.

Black women and the severely disabled get garbage healthcare. They have done some very cruel and sick things to both groups in the name of research. Stuff so disturbing you wish you never read it. Imagine living it.

My daughter died last year because she couldn’t get adequate healthcare due to doctors dismissing her concerns/symptoms. How you can see someone in front of you waste away to 80 pounds and not understand there is a severe undiagnosed issue I just don’t understand. And I hate them with my whole 💔

How horrific. I'm so sorry. How heartbreaking. It's impossible to get lawyers and advocates to even look into the issues as well. I've dealt with several doctors/hospitals that refuse to listen. I've battled them for yrs on issues. Many people don't have someone else to fight and protect them.

Keep fighting please. You’re worth it. She gave up trying to get help despite our best efforts to continue to try to get her to find any doctor who would listen…and when it became clear that life support was next she committed suicide. I’m forever heartbroken
