This is the most Conjoined Triangles of Success diagram I’ve seen for a long time. I’ve wanted to buy a screen-accurate CTS print for years, it is by far my favorite “they did their homework” gag from a show that really did their homework.

Anyways, book is Incorruptible by Eric Ries. First half is an excellent intro to how misaligned incentives poison successful businesses from the inside and out. Back half so far is bandaids on a broken arm, which is disappointing. And putting lead magnets in a book is obscenely tacky.

Wonder if that is because the second half is addressing problems we've had for millennia without finding fixes. To mangle Madison, if people were angels we wouldn't need internal controls, bankruptcy or external regulation.

OK, just a rough chapter, back into gear, but for a book that started with four straight chapters establishing that incentives trump intentions this extractive bullshit is painfully ironic. Ries criticizes “withdrawing from the culture bank” (p158) and is payday lending against the idea of books.
