It would be interesting to compare "MW of natgas burned for utility power in Minnesota" against "acres of corn grown for ethanol, vs the solar potential of that land"

Apparently basically all of this data you'd need for this is available publicly? Like we just know how much natgas was burned, and I think even how much ethanol was grown? That does mean you need to futz backwards to "acreage" but uhhh that's better than I thought we'd be.

That's just... That's bananas. That can't be real. That's too high. Is America just... growing corn to make gasoline worse? Are we that fossil fuel dependent?
