Reading your various posts on this I was reminded of the web3 era. In both cases, there's an assumption that we can find an algorithmic solution to a fundamentally human problem, and in doing so we introduce new problems.

What “human problem” was blockchain alleged to solve?

Trust. In both the currency and web3 context, the promise was that blockchain would eliminate the need to trust fallible human institutions.
