React Weekly #43 is out! This week spotlights major convergence across web and mobile runtimes: - React Native 0.88 web-aligned events - Expo SDK 58 deep dive & Apple Intelligence hooks - shadcn AI Elements for agent UIs - Base UI filterable menu a11y - Meta Quest multi-window spatial layouts

The React Native 0.88 release bridges platform differences by harmonizing event dispatching with web specifications. Coupled with variable font support and streamlined SceneDelegate setup on iOS, the core runtime continues to mature without forcing invasive upgrade refactors.

Expo SDK 58 delivers exceptional native tooling. The new expo-app-intents library provides direct hooks into iOS App Intents and Siri without custom Swift bridges. Add in browser-managed simulators via Xcode 27 Device Hub, and day-to-day developer experience gets a massive boost.

Agentic workflows require dedicated UI primitives. shadcn released components built specifically for agent traces and code execution. To test these autonomous agents, Callstack introduced Appduct, providing programmatic hooks into React Native state to verify complex UI pipelines.

Rounding out architecture: Vercel detailed how partial prefetching in Next.js 16.4 slashed transition overhead across v0. And Base UI tackled the deceptively hard problem of pairing text inputs with menu popovers without breaking screen reader navigation.
